I teach a 5th grade class at Farr West Elementary school. They watched a quick video before my lesson introducing the volume topic. Then after the video I reviewed area and then dove back into the volume. The lesson was provided by my awesome mentor teacher. I then taught them how to find the volume by finding the area of a shape and then multiplying it by its "layers" or height. After the lesson I let them go to solve the task cards around the room. Each of the task cards had a different "find the volume" question on it.
